Buying V festival tickets

V festival tickets go on sale in march typically on a Friday at 9am. Invariably they sell out by early afternoon. Here’s a few tips for buying your V festival tickets in the first round to save having to buy expensive resell tickets.

Get prepared

Find out the date and time tickets go on sale from the official site and get a full list of the official ticket agents.

Book the morning off work, bunk school, whatever. You need to have all hands on deck togive yourself the best chance of scoring. As well as legitimate buyers like yourself there’s hundreds of touts doing the same thing, trying to buy as many tickets as they can to resell. This is war friends.

You’ll need at least 1 PC, ideally a couple with the best broadband you can find. If yours is flaky go to your mates house, you know the nerdy one who spends all day online (oh wait, that’s me!)

You also want a couple of phone lines with speaker phone.

Action

Before 9 bring up all the official ticket sites in different browser windows. Use firefox, it’s faster than Internet explorer. Find the V tickets page on each and follow the instructions. If you’re going to concentrate on one site we’ve found see tickets to be the best in the past.

Also get the phone numbers ready on speedial.

Put BBC on to check you’ve got the right time! At 9 start dialing and pressing submit on the web pages. You might get through first time, you might get put in a queue, the important thing is to stick it out, refresh constantly and sit in the hold queue, be patient. I’ve got tickets within an hour the last 4 years by using this method.

You may find when buying online you don’t get confirmation straight away. If you can afford it I’d advise buying whatever tickets appear to be avaable until you know you’ve got some confirmed. This may mean you end up buying twice, which sucks a bit for other buyers who’ll miss out but you can always resell them at cost if you’d rather not make a profit.

National Express V Festival tickets

If you miss out on the first round of tickets V festival usuly release a limited number of additional tickets through national express coaches later. The idea of these tickets is to ensure you travel to V by coach rather than car, therefore reducing congestion and the carbon footprint of the festival. This means if you buy one of these tickets you have to be on the coach you book (they hand tickets out as you get off the bus!)

Good luck getting your tickets and we hope to see you at V festival this year. Remember if you miss out on the official ticket release and the national express tickets you can select the resell tickets available through our trusted partner sites.
